   What is a wiki?
A wiki is a site that allows anyone to edit and submit content. On StrategyGuideWiki.com, there is only one guide for each game/console combination and anyone is allowed to add or edit sections within those guides. Upon submission, administrators will review the changes/additions and commit them if they add value to the guide.

What are the system requirements for this site?
You will need a modern web browser with javascript enabled. Firefox 1.5 and Internet Explorer 6 have been specifically tested to work with the site. It is also strongly recommended that you have a broadband connection, particularly if you plan to submit any content. Avoid using the 'Back' button on the web browser and instead use the navigational links provided whenever possible.

Do I need a login to submit content?
No, you do not need to have a login to view or submit any content on this site. You will be asked for a name when you submit content only to give you credit for your submission.

Will my submission be committed as-is?
This is at the administrators' discretion. They may commit your changes as-is if the content is high quality and adds value to the guide. They may commit your content with changes if there are minor spelling/grammar errors. They may also deny your content if it is badly written, contains offensive material, doesn't add value to the guide, etc. at the administrators' discretion.

How will I know when/if my submission was committed?
There is no notification system at this time. Go to the site and see if it's there. If your submission was denied entirely it will never show up and you will not be notified. (Hopefully this can be addressed in a future version of the site.)

Will I lose my work if I'm inactive for too long?
If you are completely inactive for at least 30 minutes while editing a section, yes. But if you are at least moving the mouse around, typing, etc., the application will silently prolong your session to avoid this situation. You will also be warned 5 minutes in advance if your session is about to timeout and you will be given the option to extend it.

What happens if two or more changes are submitted to the same section before anything gets committed? Are any changes lost?
No changes are lost in this case, basically when a section is reviewed it gets compared against the most recently committed version of that section. So say person A adds an image to a section, then person B adds text to the same section before the image got committed. Person A's changes get committed. When person B's changes are reviewed, a deleted image will show up from the currently posted section that the reviewer can "undelete". It may not be perfect, but at least no changes are lost.

Can content I submitted ever be removed from the site?
Content may be shifted around or removed depending on submissions from other users. Administrators will not remove content just because another user submitted a change that removes it; this is part of the review process. However, content may get explicitly removed by an administrator if it is proven to be incorrect, we get a lot of complaints for offensive material, for copyright infringement issues, plagiarism, or for other reasons at the discretion of the administrators.

If I submit a minor change to a big section, how will the reviewer see what changed?
Administrators see a "diff" version of every submission that comes through which highlights changes and shows what got added or deleted, so it's easy to tell what changed.

Can I republish a guide from this site?
In most cases, no. There are two exceptions. You may republish any content that you personally submitted. Also, in some cases guides may have been republished on this site from another source with permission. These guides will be clearly marked and typically have contact information for the original author who can give permission to republish his/her guide.

Can I republish an existing guide on this site?
Only if you are the original author or if you have explicit permission from the original author and he/she understands that all guides on this site are open to edits from anyone. Text-based guides must also be converted to the format used by the site (split up into sections, no ascii tables, etc.) Entire guides with just one big text area are not allowed.
